October Meeting
Only a small number turned up for the October meeting, but those there enjoyed themselves. In the end, we spent the first part of the evening having a refresher on some fundamentals - aperture, shutter speed, ISO and depth of field. We then went out to put some of this into practice by taking some night shots - limiting exposure times to the maximum available on the camera (typically 30 seconds). It was a fabulous clear sky. Below are 2 shots I took - the first is a "straight" 30 second shot taken of St Andrews Church - the orange colour being the light from the nearby street lights. The second shot is the same, except this time I use a flashgun to light the church, in my view adding interest to the shot, although sadly it is very slightly out of focus. In both cases you can "see the stars".

Around Grantham
Few days in and around Grantham and Newark recently. The imposing Belton House, deer ( a bit grainy due to very high ISO) and then onto Newark Air Museum.

Spotted at Grafham Water
Bizarre to find an American Long Eared Owl at Grafham this week - apparently been there for years having escaped from somewhere.......
