October Meeting

Only a small number turned up for the October meeting, but those there enjoyed themselves. In the end, we spent the first part of the evening having a refresher on some fundamentals - aperture, shutter speed, ISO and depth of field. We then went out to put some of this into practice by taking some night shots - limiting exposure times to the maximum available on the camera (typically 30 seconds). It was a fabulous clear sky.

Below are 2 shots I took - the first is a "straight" 30 second shot taken of St Andrews Church - the orange colour being the light from the nearby street lights.

The second shot is the same, except this time I use a flashgun to light the church, in my view adding interest to the shot, although sadly it is very slightly out of focus. In both cases you can "see the stars".
